The Perils of Living Organically

After two days of living carb-free, I think today was my breaking point.

I was making a lunch of delicious tuna salad lettuce wraps. I made the tuna salad and wrapped it in these big leaves of romaine lettuce that I got last week from the organic produce service that delivers all kinds of produce to your house. They sent me these great carrots and parsnips and avocados and fruit along with the lettuce, and some chips and mac and cheese.

Anyway I was halfway through eating my second tuna salad lettuce wrap when I felt something weird in my mouth. I pulled it out and saw that it was a live worm! OMGGG!

It wasn't very big, thank the jesus, but I still freaked out and called my mom, who laughed of course and pointed out that since little kids eat them for fun, I was probably ok. I think secretly she was gleeful because she's jealous of my organic produce. jk.

And for the record, I blame this more on the south beach diet than the organic produce. Guess which one I'm giving up.
