rats.

For some reason my laptop computer set its self-destruction sequence this morning and is now DEAD. Worse than dead because all I can access are the BIOS screen, the command prompt, and the Windows installation menu (a ruse, as I learned after spending the last 8 hours trying to reinstall my OS). I have given up and have commandeered Seth's (always functioning) desktop.

We rearranged the living room furniture today and it's made a world of difference.

I pre-ordered Wii Fit Plus (with balance board) because I can no longer afford my gym membership (and let's be honest, I wasn't going to go anyway. It gets dark at like 4:30 here in winter and makes a post-work workout impossible.).

We saw Patton Oswalt last night, and he was amazing. The theatre was old and had no a.c. so we were surrounded by sweaty dorks because it was like 80 degrees yesterday. It's like 60 today and feels normal again.

If my UW library priveleges weren't currently on suspension for late fees (yes, from June), I would get these books:
  • The biology of religious behavior : the evolutionary origins of faith and religion / edited by Jay R. Feierman.
  • More moral than God : taking responsibility for religious violence / Charlene P.E. Burns.
  • Contemporary religious Satanism : a critical anthology / edited by Jesper Aagaard Petersen.
  • Redeemed bodies : women martyrs in early Christianity / Gail P.C. Streete.
  • Be always converting, be always converted : an American poetics / Rob Wilson.

Wii fit PLUS?!? Son of a... another damn thing I have to buy. Not really, actually, it looks like they fixed a lot of the things that bothered me about the first one, like not being able to set up a routine the first time. I hope you like it.

Thank god the game alone is only $19.
