Since Seth and I are broke-as-jokes for the holidays this year, we're probably not doing any real gift swapping. But in case we win the lottery between now and Dec. 23 (because shopping on Christmas eve is pretty gauche), here's what I am wishing for:

• a Nook from Barnes & Noble, or a Kindle
• Reebok Easy Tones (the ones that shape your butt!), in pink
• an exercise bike
• makeup, shower stuff, and perfume from Sephora
• curtains & curtain rods for the bedroom and living room
• enough cash to get my laptop fixed and upgraded to Windows 7
• an espresso maker or a juicer (we don't have counter space for both)
• new fiestaware
• a doggy
• a slipcover for our *new* sofa (bought used from our neighbor this week)
• a bigger bed
• work clothes from J. Crew, Banana Republic, GAP, and Ann Taylor Loft
• regular clothes from H&M and Urban Outfitters (and okay, maybe Forever 21, but only tasteful stuff. And their jewelry.)
• house things from anthropologie
• a blackberry
• snow

And, if I'm feeling generous enough to share my lottery winnings, here is what I would get Seth:

• some video game
• some computer game
• a nice watch (but he would have to pick it out because he's picky about watches)-
• a new North Face jacket
• books from this new series he's reading
• a smartphone

Anyway, it's cold cold cold today, with something called freezing fog going on. I don't know what that means, but on the covered walkway I use on the way into work, someone had drawn huge boobs in the frost on the frozen glass windows.

Finals are next week so work is nice and quiet. Our office holiday party is tomorrow afternoon at my boss's house. We swapped names for gifts, and of course I got my boss. I got her a cute travel jewelry holder from Ann Taylor, which I hope she likes. Tasteful and practical, and within the $15 limit.

I want to make a gingerbread house.
