Let me introduce you to a new slang word I learned last night:
boot (v). [b'oo't]: to puke, barf, or vomit
As in: "The last time I was here, I drank a whole bottle of wine and smoked too much strawberry-flavored tobacco out of Amy's hookah...and I promptly booted on the carpet."
Colloquial Origin: introduced by my friend Jen who spent her undergrad years on the East Coast (Philadelphia, I think)
Advantages of Usage: much less graphic than "barf", slightly cuter than the word "puke." See: "Oops, I booted! Tee hee"
Disadvantages of Usage: slightly vague. The sentence "Someone just booted on your couch" doesn't quite illustrate a sense of urgency that a host would prefer.
