Back to School...sort of

This is the only photo I took during Seth's visit. It's an animatronic Ninja Turtle (Donatello) from the movie (the first one). I took it at the Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame. It was seriously the only exhibit I wanted a picture of, and there were all these NO PHOTOS signs everywhere, but everyone was taking pictures with their cell phones anyway. It's like 6 feet tall and totally awesome. All the costumes from the old Star Trek episodes were cool, too. Also, the wall of weapons from sci-fi movies through the years. But I was too chicken to take more pictures.

Anyway, school started this week. So did work. Work is good. I left early because my stomach hurt like crazy, and still does today. So I'm skipping work and one class the first week of school. Because, in all honesty, I am the laziest grad student ever. And that is why I will probably never graduate. That, and my learning disability that impedes my comprehension of semetic languages.

To be honest, I wasn't ready to come back. I mean, I was, but then I wasn't. I went from gung-ho to screw-this pretty quickly. I think I might be burnt out. I wish it wasn't costing me money.

But ironically, I am really excited about my classes this quarter. One is a look at the political parties in India, and the other is about political economy of religious institutions. See...cool! I'm trying my hardest, I swear.

I bought an exercise program off of an infomercial. Stay tuned for updates (it's not here yet). (Told you I was gung-ho to be back).

Meanwhile, campus looks like this:

...which helps things considerably.

Beautiful campus. Oh, and PLEASE tell me you bought Yoga Booty Ballet. Some of my co-workers were freaking out about it not too long ago, and one of them brought it up to work so we could see what all their hype was about...and it looks like the most fun thing EVER. Think shaking-your-ass-Carmen-Elecra style while breaking a sweat to some toe-tappin' jams. So I hope that's what you got. Ha. Meanwhile, UT is about 1,000X uglier than your school. Your new classes sound pretty nifty. I get to watch babies pop out of screaming women next semester. Believe it or not, I'm actually looking forward to that (the watching, that is, not the partaking). :)

Nice. I got the Turbo Jam system, which includes LOTS of booty shaking, and these neat gloves you wear instead of using weights. I'm a sucker for before-and-after stories...and this one had a bunch. I'll let you know how it goes! At least the weather at UT is probably awesome (still cold and rainy here). And good luck with those babies. Um, yikes! :)
