Ugghhh.
Somehow in the last week or so, school has picked up to warp speed. There are only 2 or 3 weeks left in the quarter (literally, I have NO IDEA. It might be 4.) and I have two big papers to finish and a bunch of little things to do. More depressing, it's Mardi Gras and no one here cares, again. Jared was kind enough to send us a really yummy king cake, and I think Seth is cooking cajun food this weekend. Now if I could just hire a robot to write my paper and I'd be in business.
Valentine's weekend was pretty fun. We didn't make it to Shreve for Homecoming, but we made the best of things. We went to our fave sushi restaurant for a late lunch/early dinner, and when we got there it was totally decked out for V-Day, with paper hearts everywhere, baby roses on the tables, paper heart napkins, candles, and a special sake menu. It was SO CUTE and ended up being really romantic. :) Oh and fucking delicious.
Afterward, Seth and I went to Macy's so I could spend some of my gift cards from xmas. I saw a bunch of Fiestaware that I wanted (but don't really need) and ended up just getting a coffee grinder. :) Totally practical and boring but it makes my coffee so much better (and buying whole beans is cheaper). Plus now when I use it, it reminds me of Valentine's Day. awww.
The best part of the weekend was Sunday morning, when we drove to IKEA. It's in Renton, which is kinda far (past the airport), where Seattle seems to like banishing large corporate stores because it's also where the closest Wal-Mart is. We went early and there was no traffic and the store wasn't too crowded yet so we got in, shopped, and got home pretty quick. I freaking love IKEA and when mom and I go, we spend 4 hours there easily (and actually, don't really buy much). Anyway, we got a much-needed coffee table, dresser, lamp, and desk chair, all on sale. And it all fit in Seth's car! Renton is also the home of the closest Popeye's (assumably banished for its deliciousness), which Seth and I loooove and miss dearly, so we got a bunch of chicken and came home and ate it and put together furniture the rest of the day. haha.
p.s. Fast food restaurants here are required to post nutrition info on their menus. Pulling up to Popeye's to learn how much fat and calories are in their food is NOT really necessary. Nor is it some kind of enlightening fast food deterrent. WTF, Seattle?
p.p.s. Now I want more sushi. Or Popeye's.
p.p.p.s. Just FYI, the closest Sonic is in Oregon. And the closest Super Target is I don't know where because their website only lets you search within a 100 mile radius. Holy hell.

I would have a heart attack if Sonic/Target and I were separated with at least 100 miles in between us. There is something to be said for "going green" and "shopping local," but when you're poor I think there's more to be said for cheap groceries and fast food (hello, Sonic happy hour any one?)
Agreed.
And we have like a million Target's...just no SuperTarget's...haha. I miss their cheap organic generic brands..
