This week has been amazing, o' course. Monday was st. patrick's day. I went in to work and realized that there was NOTHING for me to do (duh, who needs advising when you're trying to take finals, hello?). So I worked on my paper. I told them I wasn't going in anymore this week. When I got home, Seth and I went out for thai food.
He loves loves loves my neighborhood. I was really afraid he wouldn't since it's kind of sketchy to me sometimes. Ok I know it has lots of crazy cool restaurants and bookstores and stuff, but it also has some weirdos. But I have to admit, it is pretty clean and all-in-all kind of amazing. Having him here makes me appreciate stuff again.
So after dinner, Lindsay came by and invited us to come upstairs for game night with some of the neighbors. I want to stress that we, as a building, do NOT usually have game night, nor do Lindsay and I have game night when we hang out. I think she was really curious to meet Seth. Also, game night sounded fun since studying for finals was stressful.
So anyway it was us, Lindsay's bf Kyle, her neighbor Dave (who's working on his phD in clinical psychology), his gf Catherine (who doesnt live in the building but is SO cool. she's from Portland, works part time editting math textbooks, and met Dave at Tango dancing class), and Elizabeth (who I spent vegetarian thanksgiving with this year). We played Apples to Apples, which is a really fun game that is apparently pretty popular up here, because people always play it at Amy's parties, too. So when we get back to shreve there might be an Apples to Apples night, idk we'll see...
Then yesterday we rode the bus downtown to Pike Place market (the big market where they throw the fish). The weather was gorgeous, and I was so thankful. We saw the first Starbucks, and all the amazing produce and flowers, and of course the fish. We even found this amazing specialty food store that has just rows and rows of jars of international sauces and pickles and mustard and chocolate. A-mazing.
Next we went to the Space Needle. I was super excited because I hadn't been yet. We went to the top and since the weather was beautiful you could see super far (and almost make out the mountains lol). The gift shop was also bad ass.
While we were up there, we could look down and see these weird amorphous-looking buildings underneath us next to the Space Needle. We couldn't figure out what they were so we went there next to investigate. It turned out to be The Science Fiction Museum and Hall of Fame! which I had No Idea either (a) existed or (b)existed in Seattle. So of course we went and it was exhibits about sci-fi books and movies and there were all these movie props, like a full-scale terminator robot and star trek costumes and planet of the apes stuff and a full-sized model of one of the Ninja Turtles. It was pretty awesome!
So then we took the monorail (also pretty sci-fi) back to the market and spent for-ev-er figuring out where to catch the bus home, which in turn took for-ev-er getting us back. I was almost frustrated but Seth thought it was fun to people-watch so I felt better :) Then we ate Indian food and finished my paper. And I realized I forgot to take any pictures. Oh well

Glad ya'll are having fun...I love Apples to Apples!
OK--So I was trying to show Tim the Experience Music Project in Seattle because we were having this big discussion about Jimmie Hendrix and I found out that that EMP and the SciFi Museum ARE THE SAME THING. I guess they added the SciFi part to Jazz up the EMP bit, which was a really good idea since (in my opinion) looking at robots is cooler than looking at guitars. Also, that building looks like something out of Logan's Run.
It is the WEIRDEST building ever. And I knew we had the EMP but didnt really ever want to go there...but no one ever talks about the sci-fi museum!
