lethargy

I think there may be a black hole underneath my apartment.

I mean, not literally. I know there's two people who live in the basement unit below mine, next to the laundry room (I know they can hear Seth walking around, so I KNOW they hear us have sex...which is weird and makes me feel weird when I say hi to them...but it's a couple and they're our age, and honestly they probably get angrier about us parking too close to them than hearing our neighbor sex...but anyway).

I mean a different sort of black hole, the kind that sucks all my energy out and makes me wake up completely unmotivated to face the day, even if all I have planned is summer school and boring errands.

I skipped class the last couple days...and a couple days last week too. I go to bed early and set the alarm, and fully intend to wake up and go. And when the alarm goes off I find any excuse I can to stay in bed instead, just long enough for it to be too late to get there on time, and I stay home instead. It's totally sad, especially since it is THE last week of summer school. Our final test is on Friday and I'm done (although I've been doing some facebook snooping and I *think* the test may have gotten moved up to tomorrow...but I'm not sure because the TA won't email me back...he doesn't give a shit either). And yet....still can't make it.

I tried to rationalize it out this morning when I woke up....why I was dreading getting up...because I really do like the class, and of course it's summer so it's not like my schedule is crazy...I mean, no papers or real work or other junk. It just doesn't make sense. The only real reason I could think of was the fact that it was raining for the third day in a row, which made the apartment a comfortable temperature again, finally, and the windows were open so the rain sound made me sleepy.

It's weird having only one class. It's good because it makes the homework less painful, but it's bad because it's easier to skip. Like, skipping one two-hour class is easy compared to skipping a 3-hour class that only meets once a week AND four hours of work. Or something.

Anyway I finally did get up, and despite my crankiness at myself for sleeping so late, Seth was super nice and we cleaned the whole apartment, since Lindsay wants to show it to someone tonight (in like 45 minutes). I'm so excited about moving in about a week...it's going to be great to have real walls, a full-size fridge, a hallway....you know, the luxuries!

I even did all the rest of my German homework to turn in tomorrow, in case we do have a test, while Seth and I watched This Filthy World, which is about John Waters telling awesome stories about himself and his movies. We were cracking up. Oh, and I totally got an awesome package from my mom, with more stuff from home, like my toolkit (finally), windchimes, my Red River Radio coffee mug (from last year's pledge drive), and some super awesome gifts from my mom, including a cute black jacket with gold buttons, a linen embroidered skirt from anthropologie, a belt, a scarf, and a cute contact case and a cute ring. They were things she picked up from her Gulf Shores trip and a recent trip to the cutest Tyler store, Dressin Gaudy (ha ha). It made me really happy, especially since she kept texting me with DHL tracking updates all morning ("It was in Salt Lake at 4:45a.m!") ha ha

Where are you guys moving to? Will you have to buy more furniture? That's the BEST part about moving :) You're so lucky to still receive care packages from your mom in the mail. I haven't gotten one since college, and even then it was only full of candy & sweets, but with an admonition to not eat it ALL or else my thighs will pay for it later.

Haha hints taken into consideration. We will definitely be planning a return visit to Seattle--I'm dying to see your city and eat your fresh seafood. For our guest room, I'd like to go ahead and request fresh flowers, Egyptian cotton sheets, and classical music piped in through the air vents. Kthx. Your guest room will come with a cat.
